Journal of a High School Girl during the Great War (1914-1918)

Due Date: April 26, 2017

1. You should have eight entries. They should begin at the start of the war (1914) and end at the end of the war (1918). Two entries each year gives a broad perspective.

2. Include creative personal things about Dallas, Ursuline, and “your family” at the time. What did you study, who were your friends, what did you do to enjoy yourself? Each entry needs to have some reference to the war from a personal perspective.

3. You do not need an entire page for each entry. Sometimes they will be longer or shorter.

4. Illustrate your diary with pictures of the school, your friends, clubs, personal clothing, houses, neighborhood and Dallas itself.

*There are reference books (though limited) regarding Dallas and some online sources. Example Texas Historical Society. I will put all Ursuline archival material at the circulation desk in the library for you to use. Must use the Library of Dallas archives, as well as the Ursuline Archives. We will meet with Mrs. Yoder to help with our research.
